So I'm away on a class field trip and dropped the EG off at my boys shop RTR performance in Killeen to go ahead with the swap. I'll be away for 10 days and when I get back, the EG should be done. I dropped it off yesterday and he already pulled the motor and cleaned and tucked the engine bay. Here are a few pics....

Good bye single cam!!!! You were a soldier! And you will be missed (for the gas mileage only of course)!
Engine bay was really dirty and needed a good thorough cleaning..
Starting to get soaked in degreaser...
And after 4hrs of cleaning...

Here is the plug that is needed to block off the extra hole above the oil pump...
The dash needed to be pulled apart to Run the custom quick disconnect harness..
The old hole where the a/c lines use to run. Will be usedto run the quick disconnect harness.
Pics of the custom quick disconnect harness... Fucking flawless work by my boy James at RTR performance...
Pics of the quick disconect port mounted in the firewall..

So everything is just about done. Had problems trying to tune and it appears to be a faulty map sensor. Picked up a replacement sensor and tuning will continue and be finished this weekend. Exhaust is not finished either as it needed the required modifications.

Exhaust is finished. Just slight modification needed. Full 3in SS from the header back.
All that's left is some tuning! I'm excited!!!

Just some random pics of the completed swap...
Decided to do a p/s and a/c delete, but still run p/s by using a MR2 electric p/s pump. Will allow me to ditch the hydraulic p/s pump and free up some hidden HP.

Just a quick update.....
Got the p/s and a/c Karcepts delete kit installled....
The last few parts are due to come in the mail today which are a power steering cooler and a fresh set of iridium plugs. The electronic MR2 power steering set-up will be installed today along with the p/s cooler. And that's it (for now anyways) for the swap. Dyno tune will be performed this weekend. Stay tuned for HP and more importantly TQ numbers very soon.....

Ok, got the last couple things in the mail today.
P/S cooler in stealthy black
And fresh set of Iridiums!!
Barring no complications, tune should be done this weekend!
Predicting HP numbers to be in the low 200's and TQ numbers to be 160-170ish. Not bad considering the only performance upgrades is the header, exhaust, and freeing up some HP by ditching the a/c and p/s. The restrictive PRB IM, low compression pistons, stock cams and unmodified cylinder head is what is holding me back for the time being. I will address the build up of the powerplant in the future. Will be aiming for 300+HP and 200+TQ all motor. Shouldn't be too hard with some aggressive cams, high compression over sized forged pistons, Endyne ported head and port matched RBC IM with port matched larger diameter Throttle body, larger injectors, E85, and slightly aggressive tune.
But that will have to wait as I will be addressing the exterior of the car (mainly just respraying it the stock color and fitting the CF pieces), and then focusing on road racing suspension upgrades.

So, today was the big day! Street tuning session was set up for 7pm. Got there about 30 minutes early and James and the RTR crew was giving the car a final look over. Words can't explain how sick and dope the swap turned out. I was very impressed with the quality of work and attention to detail that was performed. Mark gets there a bit afterwards and commences to do his thang. The only minor hiccup that occured involved the stock D series throttle cable bracket and throttle cable not being able to open the throttle body 100%. After messing around with it for about 30 minutes, we coil only get it to open up about 70%. it's an easy fix though, will just get the Karcepts throttle cable bracket and throttle cable. Anyways, Mark jumped on his laptop and within minutes had the motor purring and readied it for the street tuning.
Driving impressions....
HOLY SHIT........ Low end power is ludacris! No effort at all to start moving! Gobs of TQ everywhere. Touch the gas pedal and BAM instatorque! AFR's stayed nice and happy! But quickly found out my JDM tach is way off what Hondata was reading. Might swap back to my stock cluster and see if that's any better.
Top End and vtec engagement is like a missle! If this is what it feels like with just a header and exhaust, I can't imagine when I put on all the mods!
The electronic P/S is fucking SICK!!! It's wired up to a switch so I can turn p/s on/off, shit is crazy!
On a side note, got my first kill not but 10 minutes after leaving the shop. Pulled about 3 bus lengths on a 2nd gen eclipse drop top GS-T. Wasnt even gonna run the kid until while waiting at the light, overheard him telling his homie in the passenger seat that his car was faster. Lol, pulled into Micky D's parking lot after the ass raping to drop off a redbox movie and he pulls in 5 minutes later and parks 5 spaces from me and doesn't say a word. Lol, priceless!
Big shout out to my boy James and the RTR crew for helping me out on the swap and build!
