A creature comfort update, picked up a set of JDM version 5 STi seats. They have red patches on the shoulder and thigh sections and an embossed STi logo.

After doing some research about the swap, seems like the valves have a tendacy to float at over 6000rpm and 8psi or more, so I bit the bullet and ordered Supertech Dual valve springs and retainers today. Project is definately not on the cheap side...

Got my supertech dual valve springs and titanium retainers....
Will be dropping them off along with my Delta regrinds to the machine shop to get the parts installed as well as replacing the valve stem seals and lapping the valves.

So it's been awhile since I had an update. School is kicking my ass, so glad this is my last semester!!!
Anyways, picked up the heads from the machine shop, where they installed my supertech dual valve springs, titanium retainers, new valve stem seals, and my delta F/I regrinds, and did a valve job to top it off!
Also picked up a preowned OEM V5/6 JDM grill, my last exterior piece to complete the "looks" department. Will be here next week shipped from Japan.
All I'm really missing before the motor can be reassembled are rod and main bearings, along with some ARP rod bolts for a sense of security.

ARP rod bolts came in today....
Along with my OEM V5/6 grill complete with cherry blossom red "I" emblem! Got it of yahoo Japan auctions for $75 and an extra $50 to ship it EMS from Japan. So $125 total, not too shabby! All clips and tabs are intact, no cracks or chips whatsoever. Just needs a fresh coat of SRP.

Got a little bit done today. Not much, but I installed the V6 front seats and V5/6 cluster.
The car is at my buddies house who will be repairing the various small door dings and one small dent. He will then wetsand the whole car down, prep it for paint, and spray it with a couple fresh coats of SRP within the next week or two. My other buddy is ready to assemble the motor, just waiting on bearings.

So, finally got my last exterior mod(s) delivered to me today thanks to a fellow NASIOC member......
They are actually silver '04 STi BBS's, but painted grimspeed gold. Needs some touching up, but seller sent me an extra can of paint for free! Gonna mount some tires on them later this week after I touch them up.

Not much of an update, but the minimal body work is almost done. Just a few dings a one small dent was worked on. Car will be wetsanded down and prepped for paint by the end of the week. After the prep work is done, car will be towed back to my buddies shop where the motor will be dropped in pending any part shortages. After the motor is dropped in and car is running properly, will then go to get sprayed a couple coats of SRP.

So, put another coat of Grimmspeed gold paint on the BBS's, threw some tires on and slapped them on the car. Body work is also finished! Ordered a set of the new raceland GC coilovers also.
After I snapped those pics, I pulled the front bumper off and took it to my buddies body shop where they will do all necessary modifications to make the Wrx three piece front lip sit flush, hopefully not hacking up the stock bumper too much...

Finally done with school!!! Had to put this project on the backburner til I was done with school. So, time to kick it in high gear! Finally got around to swapping in the turbo front crossmember. This was a PITA! Thought I could do it at home with hand tools, boy was I sorely mistaken! I snapped a open end wrench in two and split two 19 inch sockets in half just trying to loosen up one lower control arm bolt from the frame! Towed it to my friends shop, got it on a lift, and bolts came out fine (with the help of a blow torch and heavy duty compressor tools). Also swapped in the Raceland coil-overs. These things can go low.
I started playing around with them and got the rear tire to slightly tuck with plenty of room to go lower. When I get the car up and running, will give a full review on how they ride. But as far as height adjustability, on a scale from 1-10, they get a 10/10. I like to ride semi-low, but the rear will be raised up a bit to save tire wear. Not a fan of rolling fenders.
