On March 13, 2011 I started the counter.

    ------

Returning Visits - Based purely on a cookie, if this person is returning to your website for another visit an hour or more later

First Time Visits - Based purely on a cookie, if this person has no cookie then this is considered their first time at your website.

Unique Visitor - Based purely on a cookie, this is the total of the returning visits and first time visits - all your visitors.

Page Load - The number of times your page has been visited.

From looking at the "first time visits" it appears we have consistently gained 1 person every two days. That could either be long-lost users trickling in here and there, new users, or someone that has cleared their cookies or disabled them on their browser and has loaded the page again.

Unique visits compared to unique vistors shows that we have, on average, 13 unique persons logging on per day. That trend has increased from 10/day to 13/day from March 13th, until today.

Page loads are inconsistent and probably reflect activity by users and responses to said activity.

    ------

What this means is, we are growing, but it's extremely slow. I'd say we have some momentum, but we need to find a way to push for more membership.

Well push in Austin lol. But yeah I don't see it back stepping, slow and steady works...for now. But hopefully we can start spreading the word once we hit up other meets what not.

Lol, ok Keith, I'm not accusing - you sound defensive, haha. This is a thread for ideas for increasing site traffic. I'll periodically review and update the status of our traffic and users.

We know we have our name out there, but it's not really a house-hold name for the "car guys/girls" in the area. Slow and steady growth is good, but I think we are just flying on momentum from the build up to the meet. Now is the time to push the ones that know about us to talk to their friends and people they meet and so forth about us. I'll move this thread to the Suggestions area so others can chime in.

I have a theory that if we can reach a "critical" number of consistent users, traffic will snowball and become virtually self-sustaining. We need to pour some fuel on the fire.
