I pretty much followed this guide:

    But on this part:

You might wanna use one of these (spring clip pliers):

For those of you that don't know, I bought a newly rebuilt GSR transmission a while back because the LS gearset is just RIDICULOUSLY long for the 8k rev limit. I had it in the car about two weeks and then it just stopped shifting. Since I was strapped for time and buried up to my eyeballs in 240sx, I just swapped the LS back in. Today I finally cracked the case on the GSR trans.

Yeah, that's right next to the final drive. Had that gotten sucked up in there or in the diff, it woulda been bad. Pretty sure that's the stuff wrecks are made of.

I see no reason to believe they aren't all the same. The differences between transmissions was in the gearset (ratios and differentials). I'm sure I could get it new, but it'll probably cost an arm and a leg. Not trying to be cheap, but I know most of us have car junk laying around, SOMEONE's gotta have a jacked up b-series manual (dead 3rd gear synchro anyone?) No reason to spend extra on it, ya know?
